Grand Island’s primary trade area has a population of 153,000 with a secondary area of 155,000.
Grand Island relies on its service industry to take care of the many needs of our citizens and all who visit our community. Healthcare, insurance, banking, financial planning and many others make Grand Island both a business and social center for central Nebraska.
Manufacturing in Grand Island accounts for over 7,000 jobs and consists primarily of agriculture equipment, fabrication and food and beverage. Our many transportation options, affordable utilities and a responsive education and training system have helped retain a workforce with an unmatched work ethic.
Agriculture is the number one economic driver in Nebraska with an impact of over $21.5 billion. The Grand Island Chamber supports agriculture through a number of programs and initiatives including Husker Harvest Days and the Grand Island Livestock Complex Authority.
