Eagle Distributing is bringing Talon Logistics, a CDL training school, to Grand Island. Their main location is in Fremont, but they are hoping to get the Grand Island location up and running soon. Talon Logistics started in December of 2022 training drivers for Eagle Distributing. After seeing success with that training, they decided to open their offerings to the public. Talon Logistics offers an affordable option for companies who need drivers trained to get their Class A CDL license – services for individuals are also offered. The course is three weeks, and all state-mandated Entry Level Driver Training curriculum (ELDT) is offered in the form of online modules. Alongside classroom learning, students will be out at the truck for vehicle inspections, basic control skills, and on-the-road training. Classes start monthly and are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday through Thursday with Friday being a “ride along” day that allows the students to apply what they have learned to specific company processes. Since starting, Talon Logistics has successfully trained over 30 individuals.
