Tuesday, September 5, 2023Growing and retaining our workforce is essential to the future prosperity of Grand Island. Businesses – large and small – make decisions daily about their operations and labor is always one of the top considerations. To this end, the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce and Grow Grand Island are collaborating with Wayne State College (WSC) to bring potential talent (college seniors) to the community via the Careers Scholars Cooperative Education Program. This program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience and a pathway to successful careers. Thursday, January 6, 2022Grand Island is my home, and I am proud to call it my home. It has been for 36 years, and I plan for it to be for many years to come. In those 36 years, I’ve watched Grand Island grow from a cornfield-lined Highway 281 city of 35,000 people to a population of approximately 51,000 people and an ever-growing corridor.
